WhatsApp gets fancy with new text formatting options [FEB 2024 UPDATE]

WhatsApp has been steadily improving its messaging game, and today it's rolling out some new text formatting options that are sure to make your chats a lot more stylish and expressive.

Previously, you could already bold, italicize, strikethrough, and monospace your text. But now, the world is your oyster with bulleted lists, numbered lists, block quotes, and inline code formatting available on Android, iOS, Web, and Mac.

How to use the new text formatting options:

      • Bulleted lists: To create a bulleted list, simply place the "-" symbol before your text followed by a space, and then keep adding more items to the list by rinsing and repeating.
      • Numbered lists: For numbered lists, it's the same process, except you add the number followed by a period and a space - like this: "1. " And then "2. " and so on.
      • Block quotes: For block quotes, all you need is the ">" symbol followed by a space and your text will be formatted as a block quote.
      • Inline code: Finally, if you want to enter inline code, just wrap the text with "" - like this:here's an example`.

These new formatting options are a great way to add some personality and clarity to your chats. Whether you're making a grocery list, sharing a recipe, or writing a code snippet, these options will help you get your message across more effectively.

So, what are you waiting for? Start using these new text formatting options and take your WhatsApp chats to the next level!
